The IBB currently administers many training programs for both undergraduates and graduates, as well as the course UNIV 594. Active programs include: the BioXFEL Internship, the NIH T32 Fellowship, the NSF REU in Multi-Scale Biomolecular Networks (BioNetworks), the PhD Program in Systems, Synthetic, and Physical Biology (SSPB), and the AHA SCRIP and BUILDing Scholars internships. Past (inactive) programs include: Med Into Grad and Beckman Scholars for Undergraduates.
Rice has a tremendous opportunity to assume an international leadership role in inter-disciplinary bio-related research and education. IBB engages its faculty members in conversation to help identify high-priority, transformative bio-related research themes in which Rice can achieve preeminence. IBB solicited the following one-page documents that summarize ideas, current strengths and investment needed to support growth in this area.
