Key Hallmarks of IBB
Rice's IBB fosters cross-disciplinary research and education programs encompassing the biological, chemical, and engineering disciplines. Over one hundred faculty members representing all of Rice's science and engineering departments are affiliated with the institute. These researchers work across departmental boundaries in areas where movement from basic science discovery to practical applications occurs with amazing speed: protein-based blood substitutes, non-rejectable replacement materials for bone or organ transplants, synthetic cell fabrication, engineered tissues, heart and cancer diagnostic tools and treatments, nutritional formulations, and targeted drug delivery systems. In addition to its strong research focus, the IBB offers a summer academy program for high school students, research opportunities for undergraduates, as well as training and professional development programs for graduate students and postdoctoral fellows. More information can be found in the IBB flyer.
IBB Supports its Sponsors
In addition to free admission to all IBB events, IBB Sponsors will also receive a free luncheon or meeting with an IBB faculty member associated with your company's research interest; and display of your company's logo at IBB events, the IBB web site, and the IBB web newsletter.
If you are interested in becoming an IBB Sponsor and have questions, please email the IBB's Executive Director, Dr. Paul Cherukuri at email@example.com or call 713-348-8159.
To become an IBB Sponsor, please write a check, in the amount of your choosing, made payable to "Rice University" with "IBB Sponsorship" designated in the memo line and send it to: Rice University, Institute of Biosciences and Bioengineering, Attn: Dr. Paul Cherukrui, MS 144, 6100 Main St., Houston, Texas, 77005.
