Dr. Billy Cohn (Vice President of Medical Devices for Johnson and Johnson) presented a very special talk in the BRC Auditorium on Aug 3. His lecture on “Fostering A Culture of DIY Medical Device Innovation” was open to all Rice faculty, staff, and students as well as the TMC. Dr. Cohn is a prolific inventor (often called the “Edison of Medicine”) and a world-renowned heart surgeon, innovator, and entrepreneur. Known for giving some of the most engaging seminars ever seen, he inspires both students and faculty alike with his work on artificial hearts and what he is now doing at the Center for Device Innovation in TMCx.
