UNIV 594

The IBB offers the Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR) UNIV 594 Course at Rice University. This course is co-organized by Paul Cherukuri (Executive Director, IBB) and Andi Gobin, and meets during the fall semesters on Wednesdays from 12:10 until 1:40 PM.

Responsible conduct of research is the practice of scientific investigation with integrity. It involves the awareness and application of established professional norms and ehtical principles in the performance of all activities related to scientific research. To accommodate the recommendations established by federal agencies for training in the Responsible Conduct of Research, training in the responsible conduct of research at Rice University has been modified to include mentoring and contemporary ethical issues in science and to add significant discussion of individual case studies.
