IBB invites you to Congressman Dan Crenshaw's 2nd Annual HealthCare Innovation Summit
February 20, 2020, Hudspeth Auditorium inside of the Anderson-Clarke Center at Rice University's Glasscock School of Continuing Studies

Registration opens at 8:30 am. The event will begin at 9:00 am and conclude at 11:00 am. The summit will showcase cutting edge research, Rice's Institute of Biosciences and Bioengineering clinical trials, and the continued growth of The Texas Medical Center. Register now.
Our keynote speaker will be Dr. Jim Allison, recipient of the Nobel Prize for Medicine, for his development in cancer immunotherapy. Other special guest panelists include:

Special IBB Seminar: CDR Steele, Army Medical Research Command
December 12, 2019, in the BRC Auditorium
Please join us for a special IBB seminar on by Commander Christopher Steele, Director of the Military Operational Medicine Research Program (MOMRP) in the US Army Medical Research and Materiel Command. CDR Steele will discuss current and upcoming Department of Defense opportunities in biomedical research and how to respond effectively to requests for future grant proposals. Seminar open to all faculty, students and staff from Rice and the Texas Medical Center. Free reception (hors d’oeuvres and wine) for all registered attendees.

RAPID-FIRE PRESENTATIONS: Following the seminar, IBB is hosting a rapid-fire presentation session for faculty interested in giving a 2-minute presentation to CDR Steele showcasing their research and how it aligns with MOMRP topics of interest (PDF) such as wearables, bioelectronics, human performance, sleep, and injury/trauma. Note: Details for a new seed funding opportunity will be provided during the event. Seed funds generously provided by Rice University (ENRICH and IBB) and Houston Methodist.

Army Futures Command visits Rice

The first event at Rice with General John M. "Mike" Murray, Commanding General of Army Futures Command (AFC), was an effort led by IBB. General Murray was on campus to learn more about Rice's research capabilities and how the university and AFC may be able to work together to drive Army's research and modernization priorities forward faster.
